DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES
The Department of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Sassari was established in 1946 in Sassari. It is the only institution that offers education to undegraduate and graduate students in this field in the Sardinia Region (Italy). At present, the Department has teaching and research facilities in Sassari, Nuoro and Oristano in Sardinia.
The Department has a long tradition in teaching, research and public engagement activies in several areas related to Agriculture, including Crop Science, Fruit Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Animal Science, Food Science, Forestry, Environment, Oenology, Agricultural Economics, and Agricultural Engineering.
Providing work-integrated learning opportunities and getting our undergraduate and graduate students out into the real world is part of our mission. We offer high-quality teaching and research, and excellent facilities (classroms, libraries, laboratories and experimental farms).
Our high-quality research activies include several regional, national, international projects and we are open to new collaborations worldwide.
Another important activity of our Department is transfering knowledge to various stakeholders at local, national and international level.
We carry out multidisciplinary work in agricultural-related fields to deepen knowledge and find new solutions to some of the main challenges the world is facing today.
