Summer School on Environmental Conflict Mediation

The OurMED project Summer School on “Participatory Processes and Environmental Conflict Mediation in Social-Ecological Systems” will take place in Oristano, (Italy), from Sep 23 to 25, 2025. It will bring together researchers, practitioners, and project partners to explore participatory methods for addressing environmental conflicts and fostering sustainable governance of natural resources.

Organized by the Desertification Research Center (NRD), the School offers a mix of field visits, keynote talks, and interactive group activities designed to deepen understanding of environmental risks, power dynamics, and tools for dialogue and negotiation.

Sep 23, 2025: Field visit and stakeholder engagement focused on perceptions of environmental risks and the roots of conflict.

Sep 24, 2025: Thematic sessions on governance and participatory research practices within complex social-ecological systems.

Sep 25, 2025: Practical workshops on tools for dialogue, negotiation, and collaborative mediation.

Max 30 participants, including OurMED and NG4M network members. 

Participation fee €150 (if not affiliated with the Ourmed project) 

Participants will receive a certificate of completion.
